Changing Seasons

September 3, 2012

A journey into a new season... ushered in with a Blue Moon  Ours actually looked Pink when it first peeked over the horizon.

Blue Moon 08/31/12 - Allentown, NJ

We stayed well into twilight, one of my favorite times of the day, to soak in the splendor of the evening, watching the moon rise and the sky darken.  Just before we left the field we looked up just in time to see a hawk fly overhead.  It's wonderful to live so close to farmland.  There's a stillness that speaks louder than a marching band, and a comforting blanket of reassurance which comes when I take time to stop and take it all in.  I felt a wiggle of JOY way down deep, starting right in my heart, spreading out in all directions until I was filled with happiness and peace all at the same time. After such a stressful week at work... this was just what was needed  :)

Swall Dairy II - Allentown, NJ
To celebrate this once-every-just-about-three-year event we capped off our evening with some hand dipped ice cream at Swall Dairy II

I chose a double dip with 2 different flavors, toasted coconut with almonds and vanilla mint chocolate chip! They were both equally delicious! Needless to say, it was a great ending to a magical outing.

Blue Moons, ice cream, falling leaves, pumpkins, indian corn... Autumn is here.  What will the season bring?  When we bring joy to each day we will always reap a bountiful harvest.
